“Magnum Opus” – Senior BFA Exhibition

For my senior exhibition in undergraduate school, I built a sort of “temple” on campus containing screenprinted “stained glass windows” illustrating important scenes from the years I spent at the school. I built the structure with the help of friends, used full-spectrum daylight compact fluorescent bulbs to create “sunlight” behind the prints, and devised specific printing techniques to make everything translucent enough to show the light through. It stood for about a month on campus. I named the exhibition “Magnum Opus” as a nod to the Latin (Catholic) Church that influenced the design of the back windows.
